Gettin' Blingy with it!

Happy Tuesday, everyone!!

I hope you and your families had a fantastic holiday! I will probably be taking my tree down this week and getting my house back into order. I love putting away Christmas decorations! I always feel so free and open once they are all tucked away.

Minus the new kids toys, but-- we'll find a home for them soon.

This week on Try Stampin' on Tuesday, we have a blingy challenge for you! Optional challenge: Bling for New Years. (Which is honestly the most bling that happens for me, hahaha.)

Fun design right? Here's what I came up with.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this new SU Beautiful You stamp set.

I wasn't in love when I first saw the catalog. I even thought "Man, people are going to go nuts over this set, but meh."

MEH?!?

I apologize for my lack of understanding how absolutely amazing this stamp set really is. What sold me on the set was a fellow SU Demo who made simple notecards with her. I jumped on and ordered her immediately, and have been playing with her ever since.

I used big box store brand glitter paper, which perfectly matched Sweet Sugarplum In-Color, and paired it with Dapper Denim.

I hate to tease, but she will be available Jan 4th when the new catalog goes live. DO NOT miss out on this stamp. It will be a HUGE seller.

Thanks for popping in today! Be sure to play along with our challenge on the Blog or on Facebook!

Happy New Year!!!

Holy cats, friends!

Can you believe it's 2016!!

I feel like my blogging dropped off a cliff the month of December! Wow!

I had EVERY intention of catching up, but it just slid down the priority (maybe Festivus) pole.

I'd say the new year brings peace and relaxation, but it will be exactly the opposite. We have back to back birthdays (Jan, Feb, and 2 March) with sprinklings of holidays in-between. My son's middle school wrestling season is kicking off with 2 matches a week until February! I have derby games scattered between Fairbanks and Anchorage and back, and I feel like we just won't be home in January.

See you guys in Feb! Haha, just kidding!

To keep with the madness, I've committed to some health and crafting goals to kick off the new year!

--I'm going to do a 365-day run streak of at least a mile per day.

--I'm going to make a card or other small and quick project a day (quick is KEY here folks!)

Also continue to workout, be a better derby player yada yada.......

Happy New Year!!

Inspired by the gals at Friday Mashup, I've made a card to play along!! (I know, it's been a really long time!)
So, here is my card that celebrates the new year and sparkles!

The top right firework is supposed to be black...its showing up this odd gold color in the picture.  (sorry, couldn't fix that) I really wanted to stick with the traditional black, gold, and silver colors and be as simple as possible. I really like how the different textures and layers add contrast.

Supplies: Stampin' Up (unless noted)
Basic black textured cardstock
Whisper white card stock
July fourth stamp set
Dazzling diamonds glitter gel and glitter (helped the glue dry faster)
Fancy label punch
Delightful Dozen stamp set
Gold embossing powder, Versa-mark, soft suede ink
WOW white twinkle and black sparkle embossing powder
Cuttlebug polka dots embossing folder

Hope you all had a fabulous holiday season and heres to an amazing 2012!
Have a stamp-tastic day!
