Over the Rainbow

Hey crafty friend!
I watched a simple stamping video earlier today by SU home office, which got me messing around with my blends as a quick and easy way to make a background.
So naturally I made a rainbow cow with ‘Over The Moon’ because June is also #pride month. I paired it with the rainbow sheet from the retired ‘How Sweet It Is’ DSP pack, and made a Z-fold card!
Here's the quick n' dirty details:
1. Cut and score card base (long ways) at 4 1/4 x 11", score at 5 1/2" and 2 3/4". Fold card in half, then scored panel back on itself. This creates the Z part of the fold. (see, easy!)
2. Cut DSP panels 2 1/2 x 4" (2 of these) and then 1 at 4 x 5 1/4. Adhere to card.
3. Stamp cow image on whisper white using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then using blends in ROYGBV order, color back and forth with light real red, light Mango melody, dark daffodil delight, dark granny apple green, light Bermuda bay.
4. Cut image using rectangular stitched dies. Cut Bermuda Bay layer using next biggest size and adhere together. Place adhesive (tear and tape or other strong adhesive) on right half of panel and adhere to card base.
5. Cut inside layer to 4 x 3" and stamp confetti images (from Retired Picture Perfect Birthday stamps) in ROYGBIV colors. Stamp sentiment and punch with classic label punch and adhere to card front.
6. Stand back and marvel at your creation!

Happy Wednesday!

Brave for Belgium

While watching the news earlier today of this horrible attack, I felt compelled to make something.

Will it stop the terrorists? No, sadly.

Spark joy in others? Maybe.

Mainly, it's just for support. Show the world that I was thinking of them.

Terrorists really strike a cord with me. I won't go into it, but it makes me angry.

Anywho. Here's what I made, it was simple but effective. That's really all we need. Simplicity and the feeling of the world hugging during this hard time.

It's not as clean as I wanted it to be, basic black (old style ink) doesn't dry well after being watercolored. It makes a big flaky mess, actually.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a stamptastic day and keep Belgium in your thoughts.

With All My Heart: Freshly Made Sketches 198

Good morning!!

The kiddos were doing a good job playing and entertaining themselves this morning, so I was able to sneak away to play along with the crew at Freshly Made Sketches!

I saw this sketch the other day and KNEW I had to play along!!

I LOVE clean cards! They make my heart happy!

This card was not my intended outcome. I was in the mood to make a back to school card since it's that time of year. Not being able to settle on a school stamp, I decided this Heidi Swapp Stamp and stencil was going to be perfect! The sentiment is embossed, and even with a heavy coating of the embossing buddy, the powder still stick to everything. I like the messy embossing look though!

After that, it call just fell together!

Supplies (All SU unless otherwise noted):
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Fresh Prints DSP Pool Party (ret)
Stamps: Heidi Swapp stencil and stamp set
Ink: Versa Mark, Basic Black, Martha Stewart Metallic Gold.
Accessories: Honey Comb embossing folder, Gold Sequens, Basic Black embossing powder, Melon Mambo striped grosgrain ribbon (ret), embossing buddy.

Have a stamptastic Sunday!!!
