Birthday Wishes for TSOT 261

Good Morning!!! It's hard to believe its the second week of March! We're gaining daylight (over 10 hours!!) and spring is on it's way!! Well, if not anytime soon, at least we've been having milder temps. Good enough for me!

I feel like I've been waiting FOREVER for today to come around! Even after a busy weekend of wrestling and traveling, I've still been chomping at the bit for today!

Today is the day my first design team card for Try Stampin' on Tuesday debuts! YAY! I also have a business development call today as well. I'm trying to make being a Stampin' Up demonstrator a job for me. :) What better job could you have?

Onto the challenge. This is one of my favorite layouts to date!! I had a picture in mind when I started and it just clicked! I just got in a bunch of birthday stamps since the ones I had were pretty old and I never used. (Lots of fun sentiments, not a whole lot of images). I ordered the new birthday suite from the occasions catalog and annual catalog and I am in LOVE!!

First the challenge!

Theme: nothing floral. Come play along with us!

Here's my take using all the AWESOME birthday goodies:

For this card I used the thumping technique I found on Dawn Griffith's site! I colored the solid image then tapped my marker on it to give the look of frosting. I actually combined two stamps with this, because the Build A Birthday image was too wide for the card, so I used the cake from Party Wishes with the cute banners from Build a birthday.

I loved this layout so much, I used it for my Friday Mashup card as well!

Have you heard about the #imbringingbirthdaysback movement by Shannon West? These stamps are BACK in stock after the original order sold out after 4 hours! Crazy! Shannon felt that social media ruined birthdays and she is sending birthday cards to everyone who wants them! The SU home office is even supporting her efforts by making this stamp on short notice and covering postage I believe!

SO neat!
