This week is going to be chalked FULL of blogging fun over here! I hope you're ready!
Yesterday, while cruising the inter webs, I came across the Paper Players latest challenge and it was to add a recycled item to a project! Since it had been for-ever since I played along with that challenge blog, I decided to give it a whirl.
For a long time, I've loved a lot of the designs of Kleenex boxes (and was hanging on to them for a while- but then had a change of heart) and how easily they can incorporate with Stampin' Up colors. I ran out to the recycle bin in the garage and found the one I tossed a few days before and went to work.
This particular project is different for me, since I had a limited number of Kleenex box to work with. I chose an old Try Stampin on Tuesday layout and went from there. I didn't want to add a bunch of additional layers because I was dead set on the sentiment I chose, and if the paper were any bigger there'd be no point in even having any designed paper on there. I opted from layering a vanilla paper on there and just embossed on the Elegant Eggplant paper. Its dark, but makes a nice sympathy card because its not flashy and over embellished. I was pleased with it.
The little bling I did add were neutrals candy dots that I embossed in copper as well! That was an experiment that worked nicely :)
I apologize for the poor lighting. I live in Interior Alaska and our daylight is slim these days, and more grey than anything. Plus my stamping room is always dark. Its a lose-lose. Well, except I love it here, so that makes it worth it!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a stamptastic day!!
Lovely way to recycle that Kleenex box, and your candy dots are BOSS! Awesome idea to heat emboss them! Thanks for recycling and playing with my challenge this week!
ReplyDeleteAwesome recycled Kleenex box card--I'm a fan of the tissue boxes. ;-) Great colors here and that's a wicked clever idea to emboss the candy dots! Thank you for joining us at The Paper Players!
