A little trip down memory lane...

I'm often complemented on my cards and told that people could never make that. Well friends, that was me a few short years ago! I'd been crafty growing up making wreaths and other decorative items for 4-H, small sewing projects (I had quite the scrunchie collection).  I grew up and moved out and it wasn't until 2009 I went to a bazaar in England where I met a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I saw all of her adorable cards and booked a party. It was a great party (went over $1000 in sales!!) and the rest is history. I was addicted. I signed up to be a demonstrator (more for hobby than actually sales) in 2010.

My party was geared toward making Christmas cards.  I wanted to hand-make my cards that year and I cased a card from that holiday mini. Here are a few of my very first cards.
Christmas card 2009. I was quite impressed!

My party make and take
I worked day and night on my Christmas creation that year and my friends and family raved about them. As simple as they were. No fancy glitter or Hallmark stamp on the back. They loved them because I made them. Imperfect as they were (a stamp-a-ma-jig would've greatly helped!).

Needless to say I've learned a lot over the years with the help of fellow stampers and excellent online tutorials. If you think for one second you can't make something amazing, think again!

Thanks for stopping by on my little trip down memory lane! Have a stamp-tastic day!

Supplies:
Snow Buddies stamp set, retired, Holiday Mini 2009.
Real Red textured card stock
basic black ink
Old Olive striped grosgrain ribbon
Delightful Decorations stamp set

  1. Totally agree! I look back on some of my first projects and think wow, look at how far I have come! It's so nice to give someone a handmade card and know they truly appreciate the time and thought behind it.
