Ten Minute Thursday!

Good morning!

I realize that it's now Friday, but when I made and posted this card it was Thursday! Haha. I'm just now blogging about it.

Do you ever hit a slump in crafting? I sure have...and am currently. I'm trying to work my way out of it. I said at the beginning of summer one of the things I NEED to do more is get in my craft room. It's just overwhelming at this point. I have stuff from OnStage in April, the new catalog release in June and now its Holiday Catalog pre-order. AHH! It's just too much honestly.

Usually, when I fall into a slump, it's easy to get out of it with a few challenges (past or present) and sketches that I find on Pinterest. Lately, I've been just scrolling and nothing has come out of it. Until yesterday when I saw the Global Design Challenge and I thought- "Oh, I can do that." The designer's card was so clean and simple it was easy to CASE (copy and share everything or selectively edit, whichever you prefer). Along with that, I had to use a set that hasn't seen ink, which was my preference.

Here's what I came up with:

Enlarged for ALL the details, lol!

I LOVE clean and simple. I love very detailed cards as well, but typically I have little time to make something, so the faster the better- without losing the detail of course :) The Time for Tags set isn't just for tags- you can make cute cards with it as well. To add a little dimension, I tucked the Tulle Polka Dot ribbon underneath and added just a few teensy enamel dots from the Happiness Blooms enamel dot set. Oh, and the adorable paper is the Dinorawr DSP, which reminds me of melons for whatever reason. :)

Here's the original design:

While I'm certainly not out of the slump yet, it's getting better. Hopefully, you'll be seeing more of me here as well- blogging is not my immediate first love (remember quick and simple), but I'll pop in from time to time.

Happy stamping, friends, and thanks for stopping by!

Over the Rainbow

Hey crafty friend!
I watched a simple stamping video earlier today by SU home office, which got me messing around with my blends as a quick and easy way to make a background.
So naturally I made a rainbow cow with ‘Over The Moon’ because June is also #pride month. I paired it with the rainbow sheet from the retired ‘How Sweet It Is’ DSP pack, and made a Z-fold card!
Here's the quick n' dirty details:
1. Cut and score card base (long ways) at 4 1/4 x 11", score at 5 1/2" and 2 3/4". Fold card in half, then scored panel back on itself. This creates the Z part of the fold. (see, easy!)
2. Cut DSP panels 2 1/2 x 4" (2 of these) and then 1 at 4 x 5 1/4. Adhere to card.
3. Stamp cow image on whisper white using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then using blends in ROYGBV order, color back and forth with light real red, light Mango melody, dark daffodil delight, dark granny apple green, light Bermuda bay.
4. Cut image using rectangular stitched dies. Cut Bermuda Bay layer using next biggest size and adhere together. Place adhesive (tear and tape or other strong adhesive) on right half of panel and adhere to card base.
5. Cut inside layer to 4 x 3" and stamp confetti images (from Retired Picture Perfect Birthday stamps) in ROYGBIV colors. Stamp sentiment and punch with classic label punch and adhere to card front.
6. Stand back and marvel at your creation!

Happy Wednesday!

Delightful Friend

Hey friends!
It's been a while!
I thought I gave up blogging for good this time. Except, i didn't think of all the things I'd miss- Pinterest, challenges and blog hops! I thought, oh Facebook will be good enough. And it is, unless you want to do those things (mostly). Long story short- I'm back!

So I’ve been holding on to this paper because, let’s face it, it looked like an absolute nightmare to adhere. I just envisioned a mess of liquid Mono glue and it’s stickiness every.where.

Enter spray adhesive! What a game changer!
I was able to make 3 or 4 more with minor changes all in about 30 minutes because of it.

Fun, right? The black card was made just by stamping the ink pad directly to the paper! I'm telling you, so easy!

I know you have some of this paper hanging around- grab your spray adhesive and go to town! Make sure you do this in a well ventilated area, please?
Happy stamping! (or spraying)

Catch me on the flip side!

Hey friends!

Its no secret that I'm a terrible blogger! (its okay--I've worked through it!) But, I do still craft and do post A TON. Just not here.

Its not you, its blogger's simplicity. Or lack there of.

You see, I'm a Facebook junkie. I can post instantly away from my computer, make photo edits on my phone and frankly its bliss. I love simple.

So you don't miss out on a thing, go ahead and follow me on Facebook. I rarely schedule a post, so know if you are seeing my posts, they are exactly what I'm doing. Kinda cool, right?

I'm also on Pinterest, Instagram (not as much, but can link to Facebook....sooo... ;) )

And of course, my Stampin' Up! business page!

Hope you see you around, friend!

On the Waterfront

Hey friends!

Hopefully your week is going off without a hitch so far. If its not the week you planned it to be, luckily its still early yet, so lets finish it with a bang. (As I tell myself its ONLY Tuesday!)

I've been busy in my craft room making things that range from pretty to silly and things in-between! It's been a good time! Anyone else their own greatest source of entertainment?

Sorry for the terrible photo. Please forgive me.
Have you tried the Waterfront builder set yet?? It is STUNNING. This is a set that needs to have a permanent forever place in your craft room. Aside from making beautiful mountain scenery, you can also make beaches, city skylines, the sky is the limit with this one. You can also combine it with other sets (new and old) to make backgrounds, grassy patches, etc. Its really great and I hope this one sticks around for a long time.

It makes me miss Alaska dearly. There's nothing better than waking up on a camping trip to a view similar to this. Aside from living near it. Maybe we'll be back one day!

I posted this on Facebook the other day. It's really so true. Who would've known I'd become a hoarder? I'm sure there were some signs. My bank account has been screaming this for years. "For the love, woman! Stop shopping!" haha.

Speaking of which, I should go do some stamping!

Have a stamptastic day and the rest of the week!

For you, Love.

Good morning, friends!

Valentines Day is right around the corner and that means love is in the air ;)

That means its time to whip up some quick Valentine's projects! Quick because its now less than a month away.

EEEK!

On top of it just being Valentines day, it's also my son's GOLDEN birthday. How in the heck did he get so old. 14!

While I have a mini crisis, lets talk Try Stampin' on Tuesday's new Tic Tac Toe Challenge!

I decided to go diagonal on the tic tac toe board:

Have you ever made an eclipse card? They can be as easy or hard as you want to make them. I chose the easy route, trying to stay as simplistic as I could and really like how it turned out. My original plan was to have a banner on the bottom but didn't have a sentiment suitable for what I had in mind.

The sentiment is from the old trusty "Thoughtful Branches" which was a limited supply stamp available a few years ago.

I'm still sad it never made it into a catalog. Le sighhhhh.

I hope to see you playing along with the challenge. Remember, you can play along in the TSOT Facebook Group or on the Blog

Have a stamptastic day!

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year!!!

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and a fun New Year's day so far! For Christmas we decided to drive to Arkansas to visit my sister in-law's family! One of the perks to being back in the lower 48 is ease of travel! We left Grand Forks in time to miss some ugly negative temps (which was nice for the first time in 6 years!) We came home and rang in the New Year with the neighbors and had a blast!

I don't make many resolutions anymore. I feel like it personally sets us up for failure, so instead I *try* to be better day to day and make my resolutions into goals and have them be attainable. One of my goals is to blog better by making a plan and not just going at it all willy-nilly. Once we moved I really threw my blog onto the back burner and started using my Facebook page more because its muuuuccchhh easier. I love easy. I do most of my FB page from my phone, so it doesn't require downloading and saving, etc. We'll see.

With the blogging better, I'm participating in the Watercooler Wednesday challenge -and by the skin of my teeth mind you. Lol.

This weeks challenge was a 2-week Masculine challenge!
Light. The constant challenge in my life.

After looking up a clothing company for a teenage nephew, I decided to match my colors to it. Actually, the whole website looks like an 80's/90's beachy SoCal throwback. Scary. Now just to keep the card in a safe place so I can mail it in March. Haha.

I used the new Epic Celebrations Sale-a-bration stamp (available 3 January!) for this card. It is a cool teen card because of the elements, which I feel was missed in the SU Annual Catalog. I honestly wasn't sold on this set as first, but after seeing some other awesome ideas, and having a teen son myself, I knew this would be a shoe-in! (hahahahahahahahahaha)

Insert teen eye-roll and disappointed sigh here.

Seriously though, what teen doesn't love converse and music. Perfect!

Cheers to the New Year and have a stamptastic day!

Leave a comment, tell me how you rang in the new year and what you plan to make!
